Promoting Reading
If parents are looking for ideas for stocking fillers, I would like to point you in the direction of our reading lists.
Our librarians have provided a list of recommending reading for different year groups. We promote reading in a number of ways in the Academy, using tutor time and a specific reading lesson for Year 7, but it is just as important that students read a variety of material at home too: magazines, newspapers, articles and books. Please take a look at our lists. Hopefully it may give you some ideas for Christmas.
Nepal
On Tuesday 29th October, we welcomed back our Nepal students from their World Challenge Visit. It was good to have our students back safe and sound. The group are presenting their expedition to other students via Assemblies this week having spent two weeks travelling half way across the world and I know we are all looking forward to hearing about their experiences. I know I speak for all the group and parents when I thank Mr Barratt and Mrs Ellsworth for all their hard work in organising the visit.

Christmas Lights
RRCA Dance Co performed at the Carlisle Christmas Lights Switch on event alongside X Factor contestants and Carlisle VIPs. Well done to our students who braved the cold weather to support our dancers and to Mrs Boothman and Mr Dunn who prepared the company so well.
