Aidan took home the win for house Hadrian where our student competitors had four minutes to design a device to cushion an egg dropped from various heights. A huge shout out to Lily and Jesse who also participated in this weeks challenge, with all three students successfully passing the first round! Unfortunately for Jesse and Lily, only Aidanโ€™s device passed the second test, a 3 metre drop from the first floor balcony! This leaves the standings table at... With over 200 students out across the two-year groups, it was a great week for them. Placements ranged from Hair & Beauty salons, Nurseries, Dog Kennels, Veterinary practices, GP Surgeryโ€™s, Dentists, Engineering & Construction firms, Solicitors, Restaurants and Architects to Search & Rescue, Accountants and Magistrates court. We had some great feedback from the employers with some students being offered jobs or apprenticeships and also some being rewarded for their hard work, by the employers. Our students represented the academy impeccably and their manners, dedication, determination and respect were duly noted. Miss Whyte would like to thank all the students for their hard work over the week, and of-course the employers that gave our students these opportunities, without their support these experiences could not be offered. Our next work experience event is taking place on May 22nd when our Year 7 students will be taking part in our โ€˜Take Your Child to Work Dayโ€™. #MyFutureMe #Character #Careers #Ambition #Respect #Resilience
